Education

Věra Derflová, MD graduated from the First Faculty of Medicine, Charles University in 1992.

After completing her studies, she worked at the Department of Dermatovenereology, Na Bulovce Hospital in Prague, where she attended the first-degree postgraduate specialty program in dermatovenereology. She passed the postgraduate specialty exam in 1995. In 1998, she obtained a second degree postgraduate specialty in dermatovenereology.

Specialization

She already specialized in vascular medicine during her first-degree postgraduate training. Her main fields of study are:
  • Phlebology (diagnosis and treatment of varicose veins and symptoms of chronic venous insufficiency, with a special focus on sclerotherapy);
  • Lymphology (diagnosis and treatment of lymphatic edema of various causes);
  • Proctology (diagnosis and treatment of hemorrhoids and related disorders).

Practical experience

After obtaining a first-degree postgraduate specialty in 1995, she worked at the Center of Dermatological Angiology in Prague and Říčany near Prague until mid-2003. She has focused on vascular issues for years. Since autumn 2003 she has been running her own practice at several places in Prague, currently also including LC Anděl.
