Fractional laser treatment

At our facility we use two types of fractional lasers: the fractional CO2 laser MiXto SX and Er.:YAG fractional laser (Fotona).

These lasers are primarily used to manage the following problems:

Procedure

A fractional laser is used for ablative treatment of the face, neck, décolletage and back of the hands. The fractional laser emits a grid of therapeutic microbeams. Within a few days, the upper layer of the skin starts peeling off. Deeper layers of skin are heated, causing new production of collagen and elastic fibers. Skin strengthening occurs gradually in several weeks.

Whole-face treatment takes about 30 minutes. Depending on skin type and extent of damage, one treatment may be performed, or treatment can be repeated within 8 weeks.

Skin sensitivity

The procedure is performed after applying a numbing cream. With this cream, the clients tolerate the procedure very well; sometimes they may experience only slight burning, especially after the procedure. Immediately after the procedure the skin is usually slightly reddened and burning.

Healing time

The intended peeling of the skin occurs in about 5 days. Thereafter, rejuvenated skin appears with an improved texture and unified color. New collagen fiber production, resulting in skin tightening, will occur within a few weeks. Protection from sunlight is required after fractional laser treatment.
