Acne treatment by laser

The treatment of acne is performed using a Smoothbeam pulse diode laser (Candela, USA). Acne is a skin disorder which arises from hormonal changes, bacteria present on the skin and from the blocking of the opening of the sebaceous glands. It affects the younger generation in particular, but can appear at any age. By treatment using the Smoothbeam laser we achieve major long-term improvements in acne in all its phases. For both new inflammations and for scarring. The laser radiation is absorbed by water in the cells, which heats up the sebaceous glands, then opens up the follicle opening and reduces the formation of sebum.

This is a non-invasive procedure which does not damage the surface of the skin. Thanks to effective dynamic cooling the whole procedure is relatively painless. For greater ease, we can apply a desensitising cream. The treatment should be repeated a number of times and possibly be combined with other procedures.

Immediately following the procedure the skin is slightly reddened. This is treated according to doctor’s instructions. Protection is required against UV radiation.
