![]() ScarsScars are the result of healing of the skin. However we all react differently to them, so that a perfect scar is not the result of each healed wound. Scars can be prominent (keloidal, hypertrophic), red, brown or sunken (hypotrophic) and each scar must therefore be approached differently. Red and protruding scars can be treated using a vascular dye laser. Brown scars can be lightened using a Q-switched alexandrite laser. Scars which are sunken or leave a gap in the skin are treated using an evaporating laser, by so-called skin resurfacing. If these scars are only sporadic, they can be filled using a skin implant. | |
