Extensive pigmentation of the face for hormonal reasons is most often treated with bleaching creams, chemical peeling or the Q-switched alexandrite laser.

Freckles are hereditary limited pigment stains which grow darker under sunlight. They are best treated using a Q-switched alexandrite laser.
